Regular training hours

During the regular training hours, members get training from a certified instructor from the Bongerd. The class starts with a proper warm-up to avoid injuries. Then everyone will divide themselves among the poles in groups of three or four people. New moves will be introduced in steps and older moves will be repeated to perfect them. The class will be ended with a cooling down, again to prevent injury. The cooling down often also includes stretching to improve flexibility.

Regular Allegra members get a fixed sport from one training hour, alternating between Tuesday and Thursday each week.

Hammock members can join the regular training hour if there is still a spot available after 12:00 on the day of training.

It is the most convenient to wear short pants and a top without sleeves or a sports top during training, because you need grip on your skin for pole dancing. Our members often wear long pants when warming up or cooling down. Also bring a towel for when your hands are slippery.

Independent training hours

During the independent training hours you can train without an instructor. Since poledance is a risky sport, you need to reach a reference level so you can prove that you can safely train by yourself.

To be allowed to train by yourself, you need to have the‘independent training form’ signed by one of our instructors (you can find the form in ‘for members’ –> forms). In order to have the form signed, you need to show the moves indicated on the form to the instructor.

We have two levels of independent, with different degrees of difficulty:

  • Level 1: if you have your level 1 independent, you can train with at least 3 members who all have at least level 1 independent.
  • Level 2: you can train with at least 2 members who all have their independent level 2

Mentor training Allegra

Getting started with pole dancing can be difficult and challening. Therefore, we offer an extra possibility to learn pole dancing from an already more experienced member. You will be paired with a maximum of 3 mentees per mentor.

You can give mentor training when:

  • You have independent level 1
  • Followed the spotting class by Lisa or Tan (see the bottom of this page for the “safe spotting” document, where you can review the spotting instructions should you wish to).
  • You make sure to be around the mentees to assist them whenever necessary
  • Don’t push students beyond their level / or teach beyond reference level
  • When giving mentor training, you still need two other members since this hour is regarded as independent hour

It is your own responsibility to declare the hours you taught by sending in the declaration form, which can be found below. The reimbursement for a mentor is €2,50 per student per hour.

CLASSES BY THE BONGERD

Everybody who has sports rights is eligible to subscribe to classes from the Bongerd on their website. It is not compulsory to be a member of WSPV Allegra, everyone can join! The classes are part of a 4 week course, so you always subscribe for a set of classes, that take place once a week.

You can find the subscription on the website of the Bongerd. The subscription for a new course opens a week before starting, please check their website or the SCB app for the time and date.

Warning: classes are usually full very quickly. Allegra is not responsible for these classes and changes in times/dates. For the advanced class you need to be able to keep up with speed, for instance: being able to do leg hangs safely.

Beginners class: Tuesday from 18:30 to 19:30
Beginners class: Friday from 11:30 to 12:30
Advanced class: Thursday from 18:00 to 19:00
